1. KRUKLANKI

Languages: English, German, Russian Farm: This farm is 16,5 ha in size, lies by the Sapina river, close to Borecka Forest and numerous lakes. The farmers cultivate cereals and herbs; keep horses and cows. The host can organise horse court rides and sleigh rides during winter. You can hire bikes there (8) or organise kayaks’ trips. There is also fish pond, ping-pong table, playground and fireplace on the farm. Accommodation: 5 rooms (2x2, 2x3,1x4) - all with bathrooms, 2 summer houses (for 6-8 persons), 1 apartment with 2 rooms, kitchen and bathroom. Surroundings: Near the farm there is Gizycko with Boyen Fort (from the end of XVIII centaury). Many natures’ reserves, including bison’s one. Prices: 20-35 zl/ night.


2. BARTOSZE

Languages: German (basic), English (basic). Farm: The farmers grow various crops, vegetables and strawberries. They also keep cattle, dogs and cats. The farmhouse is old but kept in good repair and is at the edge of the village. The house is near Lake Sunowo, part of whose shore belongs to the farmer. Mixed forests begin 400 m from the house. The surroundings are highly varied, hilly, and perfectly suited for walking and excursions. Accommodation: 5 rooms with separate bathrooms, campsite. Surroundings: There is a 190 ha sanctuary near the house, called the Bartosze beaver lodge. You can rent water sports equipment at Lake Sunowo. There is a campsite on the shores of Lake Sunowo, far away from buildings and surrounded by forests. You can also camp near the forest.  It is possible to rent a two-person canoe at the farm, and bikes. Route description:  Bartosze is  4 km west of Elk. From Elk, go in the direction of Olsztyn, then go toward Rozynsk at the fork. The house is on your right. It is the first house after the sign­post “Bartosze”. By bus: from Elk . Bus stop Bartosze near the house (50 m). Train Bartosze 800 m. Prices: from 45 zl/night, dinner: 20 zl, breakfast/supper: 10 zl.

Languages: German, English (basic). Farm: On this organic farm (20 ha) grains and vegetables are grown. The farm has a 1.5 ha lake and a big orchard. By the lake there are private beaches where one can swim and have some water sports. The farm is surrounded by forests and hills. The farmers serve only delicious vegetarian food. There are luxurious apartments for guests’ use (15 places) with kitchen and separate bathrooms. There is also a campsite and three Indian-style tepees, where you can sleep and make a fire. They are fitted with three wooden bunks with military mattresses. Surroundings: The area is called the “Green Lungs of Poland” because of its exceptionally clean environment. It is one of the wildest areas in Europe. Many rare animals live here. A great place for photo hunting and animal watching. Accommodation: 5 rooms (5x2) with separeate bathrooms, campsite. Route description: Go from Olecko to Swietajno for 6,4 km and then turn left onto a road going to a forest. Follow it for 600 m. The farm is located on the left side. Prices: 50-70 zl/night; breakfast 12 zl, dinner 35 zl.

Languages: English, Farm: The farmers cultivate potatoes and cereals and keep cows, goats, sheep, pigs and poultry on this 20 ha farm. The farm is situated in the picturesque area of Suwalskie Lake District, among green hills and crystal clear lakes. The hostess prepares delicious meals – Lithuanian and Polish cuisine – different kinds of homemade cheese, sausages and cakes. Nearby there is Biale Lake (100 m), ideal for swimming and fishing. For guests’ use there are three double rooms with separate toilets. The hostess’ son speaks English. Accommodation: 4 rooms (2x3, 2x4) with 3 bathrooms. Surroundings: The Suwalskie Landscape Park, one of the most beautiful areas in Poland, with rich fauna  and flora, nice for walking, cycling and cross-country skiing. It’s a wonderful place for people who love nature and silence. Nearby there is Wigierski National Park. Route description: Rutka Tartak is located 27 km from Suwalki. From Suwalki go in the direction of Wizajny (north). Pass Rutka Tartak, after fuel station turn right, where the road splits. Go about 300 m and turn right, onto a road going down to the lake for about 2 km. Near the lake turn left and take the road to the farm. By bus or train to Suwalki, then by bus to Rutka Tartak, and walk. Prices: 25 zl/night, breakfast: 5 zl, dinner: 15 zl, supper: 5 zl


5. STARE RATOWO

Languages: German, English. Farm: This modern organic farm is medium‑sized (11.5 ha) and is in a forested area in the region of Kurpie. The farm is in the middle of the village. Potatoes, carrots, beets, onions, currants and cereals are grown, and cows, pigs, calves and hens are kept. Jan and Krystyna have 3 children: Krzysztof (25), Piotr (26) and Monika (19). There are two fishponds here ‑- you can swim in one of them -‑ and a lot of space around. You can rent bikes. Krystyna can teach you how to cook traditional meals and how to prepare fruit and vegetables for winter. Accommodation: summer house (2x2+1) with bathroom, Surroundings: Canoe rallies are organised on the Narew River (20 km). There’s Open-Air Museum in Nowogrod (24 km), and the Museum of Agriculture in Ciechanow. In Drozdowo there is a museum of natural history. In Lomza you can visit a cathedral, a monastery and fortifications. Route description: Sniadowo is on the road connecting Ostrow Mazowiecki and Lomza, 17 km north of Ostrow Mazowiecki. In Sniadowo at the road crossing go in the direction of Szumowo. At the fork turn left and go straight ahead until you see a restaurant on the right. Turn right just before it. At the next fork you will see a big white house on the right, no 18. Turn right onto a dirt road and follow it for about 800 m. The house is on the right. Sniadowo can be reached by train from Lomza. By bus from Lomza to Sniadowo . Bus stop (1.5 km).

 


6. ,, EKO FARM''

Languages: English   (between July and September). Farm: This organic farm is 30 ha. Wieslaw and Helena keep cows, horses, sheep and hens and also grow vegetables and cereals. They have two children, Pawel (22) and Anna (19). This modern farm is near the Lojewek River on a meadow with scattered trees and surrounded by forest. The campsite is secluded, near a small stream. The toilet is in the house. The panorama of the Biebrza River includes forests, hills, streams, rivers and the famous Biebrza bogs. A pontoon and bicycles may be rented from the farmers. There’s a horse‑cart on the farm, and tours are possible. In the winter there are opportuni­ties for cross‑country skiing and participating in sledding cavalcades. Accommodation: four rooms (2x2, 2x4)with two bathrooms. Surroundings: The Bie­brza and Narwi National Parks are nearby (7 km). You can go fishing, bird‑­watching, or canoeing; either on the Biebrza or Narew rivers. It is possible to swim in the pond. Lomza (10 km) has a cathedral, a monastery and historical fortifications. In Ciechanowiec there is Museum of Agriculture, in Drozdowo a Muzeum of Nature. Route description: Wizna is between Lomza and Bialystok, 16 km east of Lomza. By car: from Lomza drive in a northern direction to Piatnica, then turn right and drive straight on to Bozejewo Stare. Here turn left onto a dirt road following the signpost “Taraskowo 3 km”. Drive on for 2.5 km to the crossroads, then turn right, across a bridge for about 200 m, left again for 400 m. The one‑story brick house on the left, in front of a wooden house, is the farm. By bus from Lomza to Bozejewo then walk. Bus stop 3 km Bozejewo. Prices:20 zl/ night, breakfast: 8 zl, dinner: 15 zl, supper: 8 zl.


7. BIAŁOWIEZA

Languages: German, Russian, Farm: This is 5 ha traditional farm, nicely located outside the village of Bialowieza, where horses, pigs and chickens are kept and cereals and vegetables are grown. The farmer is also a sculptor.  In spring and autumn the farmers offer horse-cart rides and in winter, sleigh rides to the Bialowieza Forest. In the garden there is a special place for a bonfire and tents. The guests can use the big dining-room. You can rent a bike here. Hostess serves a delicious traditional meals. You can also buy ecological products from the farm Accommodation: 5 rooms: (2x3,3x2), Prices:35-40 zl/ night, breakfast, supper: 20 zl, dinner: 30 zl. 


8. GIERZWALD

       Languages: English (basic). Farm: This is an organic farm located 2 km from the Gierzwałd village. Just beside the farm there are two ponds and one small lake in the forest. You can rent two bicycles and a boat here. The farm received the "Green Lungs of Poland" promotion sign. There is also a place to play badminton and volleyball. There is a place for campfire by the lake, where you can roast lamb, pig or trout. Hostess invite especially quests looking for calm, close contact with nature, interested in local folk art, active holidays, tasty cuisine based on homegrown fruits and vegetables. Smoking is not allowed here. Please, do not come with your pets. Surroundings:  In the surrounding, there are many interesting sights: Dylewska Hill (the highest point in Mazury Region), nature reserve "Czarci Jar", Museum of Grunwald Battle or Ostródzko – Elbląski Channel (20 km from the farm). Accommodation: 5 rooms (4x2, 1x4), living room, summer house designed for disabled people. There are also sauna, shower, kitchen annex, toilet and a stage (to organize concerts, exhibitions or workshops) in the barn. Prices: 65-85 zl/night including 3 meals.

Language: English. Farm: This is a small farm (5ha), very beautifully situated in the land of lakes and forests. This place offers you a peaceful holiday away from the stresses of modern life. The farm is specializing in bees breeding. Accommodation: 2 cottages (one with 2 flats (2x4), and the second separate for 4 persons). Cottages are spacious and airy and have been tastefully decorated in the regional style but with modern features. Recommended for families with children. Surroundings: Suwalski Landsape Park, numerous beatiful lakes like Hancza (the deepest one in Poland) and unspoiled nature. This is a great place for walkers and bikers. Route description: Find on the map village called Rutka Tartak (north – east part of Poland, close to the border with Lithuania), from which drive towards Wizajny - Goldap. After 3,5 km, you pass bus stop on the left (there is white stork nest’s close to it). After 300-400 m turn to the left, following the sign „BONDZISZKI” 2,5. Follow this road till you get to the forest. In the forest turn to the left in the first dirty road leading to the farm. Prices: First flat 45–60 eur/4 persons/night, Second flat 40-55 eur/4 persons/night, cottage 75-100 euro/4 persons/night.
